Livigno, 2 ski-areas with dancing floors. We were lucky with a lot of sun, but had preferred some snow. The pists were large and with no moguls, so the skiing was more like a nice sunday-trip. The two areas of Living, one on each side of the valley were pretty similar to each other. The food and the village was nice, and the skiing ok, maybe a little bit to small for a week with 115km.
In the darkest hours, the rain was pouring and the skiis need some love. More for my own satisfaction and reminding of what will come. This is a passion, doesn’t matter if your old and probably will have a hard time, this is so fun.
It’s time again, finally. Such a special feeling, Days Before you go skiing. So excited and longing for snow, sun and cheers, can’t really Think of any better vacation than an Active skiing-holiday. This time, together with my friend Peter we will hit Livigno in Lombardia.
Expectations ahead, adventure ahead, hopefully Livigno will come to us with great skiing and off-piste, sun and snow and of course Spagetthi 🙂
In the spring, late march 2017 we visited Serre Chevalier. Day Before we arrived the sky opened and a lot of snow fell. A perfect start for a sunny week. Serre Chevalier turned out to be a great area, ofcourse the great amount of snow that fell that night twisted our minds. But we had wonderful off-pist, sunny skiing and slush. The skilifts were a Little bit old but the area enough to explore. Had a day in Sestriere and salz Dóuce as well.
Finally the sun ran away and let the snow fall. The skin, the face, lips and nose are burnt and sore. But when the snow covered the slopes and woods we head there immediately! As usual a good day, but different from the others. Anyway, tell ya a little bit of Aspen… The skiing is good and unfortunately we missed the powder, the town is sleepy and so expensive, do your reading before you get here. People are mostly old and friendly, but the posh people that knows everything, buy everything with daddy’s credit card and think they know everything about anything I don’t give a shit in. Prefer the old and gentle people at Aspen Mountain Chalet towards the hipsters at Sky Hotel, that is so posh that they don’t even notice it!
Today we tried some rougher Skiing again. We mer an elder gentleman, Ã local son from Aspen. His name was Ned and together with his Canadian friend Jack they showed us both inside and outside of the hanging walls. To be honest a little bit scary but afterwards we can summarise it like this, there will be a lot of years in double black diamond slopes ahead. What a lovely day!
The legs were in pain, the moguls were everywhere, the beer too expensive and anyway we just love it. Try to feel things in your heart and they’re just right… That’s the feeling right now :-).
Well, Aspen is actually a very sleepy town. We stay at a lovely Chalet with 100’s of wonderful 65+. They put their handbags to mark our seats in the morning and politely ask about the day. The young people probably hang out in Vail, cause honestly it’s to expensive here and a little posh. Had a lunch today, a burger and a beer for 25$, come on..
So today’s video will not be a lot of skiing, but there will come a separate cruising video cause we had the most beautiful morning at Elk Camp. Cruising with blue sky, carpetsnow and a lot of trees… Well, if you want to be jealous you have to check that out later
What à day, like on of The best skiingdays ever. Running through The Forrest and hit som great moguls. Can IT be better, so even IF Aspen is à Sleepy Old town The Skiing makes IT Work. We just loven this day with suck à Good feeling in The Sun and snow.
